Job Title: Director – Travel Retail & Emerging Markets Europe, Middle East & India

Primary Purpose:

The Director will be accountable for the strategic and operational execution of developing, maintaining and accelerating the Travel Retail and Emerging Markets channels. They will be responsible for their P&L, LRP’s and operational efficiencies. They will also oversee the end-to-end process and cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Finance, Legal, Operations, Logistics, Buying & Marketing.


The role will have the following main areas of focus/responsibility:


  • Own, lead and design the implementation of Coach’s Travel Retail strategy for the EMEAI region.
  • Launch and ensure the long-term success of new Emerging Markets via a Franchise/Distributor model
  • Navigate and build processes for complex Markets including Duty Free and North Africa.
  • Ensure new businesses, stores and doors are opened and are executed to brand standard.   
  • Accountability for the sales, profit and brand presence across the Travel Retail & Emerging Market channels.
  • Maximise market share and new customer acquisition.
  • Collaborate with key partners, service provider contacts and multiple functions across the business to build commercial plan and resources required to deliver and accelerate.
  • Proactively highlight risks and opportunities and provide both support and challenge to business stakeholders.
  • Working and negotiating with external partners and providers ensuring we can deliver profitable model / solutions where required.
  • Partnering cross functionally to develop inventory strategies for each Travel Retail and Emerging Market account.
  • Lead a small Sales team - ensuring opportunities are maximised in the immediate term and to support long-term growth across Tapestry’s brand portfolio.
  • Partner with regional Wholesale Sales Managers and Directors to ensure consistency in assortment and brand representation across hybrid business models within EMEAI.
  • Share and apply best practice and insight to drive efficiency and effectiveness.









The accomplished individual will possess...

  • 5 years’ experience at a senior manager level
  • 7-10 years’ retail / wholesale experience within EMEAI
  • 2+ years’ experience working within a Travel Retail model
  • Multi-category experience across Franchise models
  • Multi-category experience in a planning environment
  • Numerate with strong analytical skills and financial acumen
  • Strategic thinker that is commercially driven with a focus on the bottom line
  • Ability to make prudent decisions under pressure and deadlines
