Inventory Planning Manager

The Primary Purpose:


The Inventory Manager will create and manage the pre-season and in-season OTB plan for all categories across Coach Europe (Retail, Outlet, and Wholesale). This role supports investment strategies to meet key financial targets optimize customer experience, availability, sales, margin and inventory turns. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Inventory Management.

  • Manage the detailed Business Unit (BU) level OTB plan based on top-down guidance provided. This includes sales, gross margin, receipts, inventory, and WOH targets at department/class level
  • Support and guide Monthly SMI process in partnership with Buying & Allocation and communicate major changes in BU plans to global team to ensure BU aligning with global strategies/Inventory targets.
  • Collaborate with Global Inventory Management to finalize OTB plans, ensuring BU plans align with top-down global plans
  • Partner closely with Finance to align on short and long term sales, gross margin, and inventory targets; support monthly planning process with the goal of collaborative alignment
  • Manage monthly reforecast against OTB plans, supporting with the evaluation of business performance and update of sales, shipments, inventory, GM%, DR% targets
  • Manage and monitor inbound receipts and excess levels in the Distribution Centre. Partner with Allocation Manager & Wholesale Ops on outbound shipments. Partner on liquidation plan (Outlet discounting, 3rd party disposition, transfers to other DCs).
  • Work closely with Buying & Wholesale Sales/Operations teams – have foresight and identify risk and opportunity for the growth potential of each category (pre-season & in-season)
  • Support with the creation of BU reports on sales performance, business financial and trends for BU & global meetings (monthly/quarterly)
  • Mentor and develop Inventory Planner (Direct) in support of business objectives.


The accomplished individual will possess the following experience:


  • Minimum 5-7 years merchandise planning and inventory management experience
  • Highly commercial, numerate and analytical, and familiar with demand planning processes; operates with a clear command of key financial drivers in driving a business
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel and retail planning systems
  • Knowledge of the fashion or accessories luxury goods market
  • Experience of working with a global company/brand
  • Experience supporting the European market
