Senior Director, Demand Planning

Primary Purpose:

The Senior Director, Global Demand Planning plays a strategic role acting as a liaison between Coach Business Units, Finance and Merchandising to drive alignment and generate a Demand Plan driven by Integrated Business Planning processes.   Reporting to the VP, Brand Operations, the Senior Director, Global Demand Planning drives alignment across Finance, BU Planning and Brand Operations to build the regional and global demand plans, defined as the aggregated net sales plan by channel (omni view).  Additionally, this role drives alignment to feed inventory and supply planning for calculating production requirements (receipt plan).  This role will be based in New York, NY.


The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Demand Planning to...

  • Generate an automated forecast
  • Support BUs with SKU, Channel and Market Demand Plan (BU makes final decision)
  • Consolidate demand by region and globally across channels
  • Manage risk and opportunity demand
  • Facilitate the Demand & Inventory Review meeting as part of IBP governance
  • Review historical sales trends
  • Evaluate forecast accuracy
  • Identify and resolve gaps between financial targets and the demand plan
  • Research demand drivers
  • Partner with BUs and Merchandising in the management of product lifecycle
  • Support business execution of new programs and initiatives


The accomplished individual will possess...

  • 10+ years of experience in demand planning, supply chain, finance, or other related area
  • Deep analytical and financial skills with strong brand, retail, supply chain, manufacturing, and overall retail business acumen
  • Strong understanding of operational levers
  • Thorough understanding of statistical methods of forecasting and forecast drivers
  • Strong customer orientation and commercial drive
  • Familiarity and knowledge of both the DTC and wholesale businesses
