Job Title: Associate Buyer, North America Retail Women's Lifestyle / New York, NY

 

Primary Purpose: The North America Associate Buyer will execute buying strategies for the Retail Women’s Lifestyle category. This is a great opportunity for an individual with outstanding analytical and communication skills, who is strategic and operational.

 

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Buying to...

  • Influence category assortments for the North America Women’s Lifestyle business by analyzing product performance, customer feedback, consumer trend, competitive landscape and local market knowledge and convey those findings to Global Merchandising & Design teams
  • Strategically assort and plan quarterly North America Women’s Footwear Buys while balancing OTB, monthly financial targets, sku productivity goals and seasonal Global offer
  • Partner with Global Merchandise Planning to drive OTB and meet financial targets and productivity metrics for all departments. Understand sales, inventory, receipt and turn goals
  • Reforecast the business quarterly by reviewing sku level sales, inventory and receipts to hit topline goals
  • Partner with Ecommerce, Global Merchandising, Marketing, Product Knowledge, Visual Merchandising and Store Operations teams to create synergies among all consumer touch points
  • Work closely with Inventory Management and Allocation to ensure that distributions meet turn goals, support marketing calendar and maximize profitability
  • Partner with the Field Teams to solicit qualitative feedback on product, customers, store environments & competition
  • Analyze and report out cross-functionally on weekly sales analysis

 

The accomplished individual will possess...

  • BA or BS degree and at least 2-4 years of Buying and/or Planning experience required
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel, retail math and planning skills
  • Strong product sensibility and understanding of competitive landscape and trends
  • Forward strategic thinking and outstanding analytical/quantitative skills to problem solve independently and own end-to-end process
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize and adapt to fast-paced, dynamic business environment
  • A keen attention to detail and a drive to finish tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Excellent team working skills with the ability to manage cross-functional relationships across multiple levels; must work collaboratively to drive sales results
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Highly organized and proactive with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
