Primary Purpose: Strategic Results Driven Director of Footwear for North America Wholesale

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in the N.A Wholesale channel to... 

  • Manage a growing Footwear business for department store accounts across several points of distribution.
  • Possess strong influence skills with the ability to have a presence with accounts.
  • Ability to pro-actively recommend assortments to accounts with an understanding of both fashion trends/competitive landscape while understanding what works for their customer.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to run financial analysis & build buy plans.
  • Have strong and credible existing relationships with key retailers. Possessing relationships across multiple tiers of distribution is highly desirable.
  • Ability to effectively communicate the brand narrative
  • Develop and implement a wholesale account strategy in line with financial needs of the business
  • Partner closely with N.A. Marketing teams and possess a strong knowledge of Marketing strategies and opportunities.
  • Work directly with the account buying and planning teams to review seasonal sales and receipt plans, as well as profitability to maintain a healthy business.
  • Work with account in the showroom by presenting the collection and building assortments that best represent the Coach brand for the customer associated with the account.
  • Represent the core values of our brand and communicate our goals and initiatives effectively both internally and externally.
  • Partner with internal departments, such as wholesale buying & finance, Global Merchandising, retail and marketing teams to establish strong working relationships and effective communication.
  • Identify and project location moves/expansions within Department Stores.
  • Recommend Capital Expenditure opportunities that will enable growth.
  • Communicate effectively and ensure pertinent information flows quickly and accurately to key constituents.

The accomplished individual will possess...

  • Experience working in Women’s Footwear in a wholesale environment.
  • Existing strong relationships in the footwear market.
  • Solid understanding of retail math including mark-up, sell-through, OTB and gross margin.
  • Excellent showroom presentation skills and a fluid ability to merchandise and assort product as part of the sell process to accounts.
  • Strong communication & analytical skills

An outstanding professional will have... 

  • Completed university or college degree
  • 8+ years of wholesale experience in the fashion industry
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel functions and formulas
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • A natural tendency to be well organized, and able to multi-task and prioritize effectively
  • Sound judgment and great common sense
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record in managing a team
