Primary Purpose: The role of the Senior Manager is to facilitate the development, implementation, and operation of the 3D product development process for all Tapestry brands.

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in fashion accessories hardware manufacturing, 3D design, and rapid prototyping by advising the 3D team and producing technically accurate, manufacturing-ready 3D models for use within the supply chain.

The technical specialist is responsible for translating 2D design/product intent into the 3D world using Rhino and other 3D software tools. 

This is not a design position.

 

The candidate is expected to utilize their skills in hardware development to:

  • Provide engineering and technical insight
  • Provide metals manufacturing knowledge for hardware and jewelry components
  • Translate technical design specs and manage workflow
    • Communicate technical direction to 3D artists, Product Development, and Design partners

 

The accomplished individual will possess:

  • An understanding of the fashion hardware development and manufacturing processes
  • Technical knowledge of silicon molding, injection molding, zinc die-casting, brass wire-forming and sheet metal stamping
  • Ability to troubleshoot and drive solutions for new hardware mechanisms, providing mass-manufacturing appropriate recommendations
  • Ability to clearly and accurately interpret vendor tech specs
  • A working knowledge of the 3D modeling and prototyping processes
  • Proficiency in Rhino, with a knowledge of T-Splines or Clayoo (or other sub-D modeling) a plus
  • Knowledge of SLA 3D printing (or other resin based 3D printing system) a plus

An Outstanding Candidate will have:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in fashion, accessories, or a related field
  • Ease in balancing and managing multiple deliveries simultaneously
  • Ability to react and respond quickly to the needs of management and all business partners
  • Ability to successfully delegate and project manage workload for team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and strong desire to excel
  • Proven pro-active team player
  • Self-motivated with ability to prioritize and attention to detail
