Job Title: Director, Coach (Re)Loved and Repair Workshop

 

Primary Purpose: Lead the operations of the Coach (Re)Loved and Repair Workshop in New Jersey including assessment, leather craft, shipping and receiving.

People Leadership

  • Hire, coach and develop direct reports, including setting annual performance goals and development plans with stretch assignments based on their interests and business needs
  • Execute the annual Apprenticeship program, ensuring a positive and meaningful experience for all apprentices
  • Develop and execute learning and development plans that ensure the Coach (Re)Loved and Repair Workshop maintains industry-leading craftsmanship skills
  • Develop and execute strong succession plans annually
  • Develop and execute communications plans so that all team members feel connected to the brand and understand company goals and initiatives
  • Work with the Director of Sustainability to ensure that the workshop organization meets the current and future needs of the brand

 

Production and Quality

  • Monitor all operations and processes of each of the Coach (Re)Loved and Repair workshop teams- assessing, repair, and shipping/receiving. Ensure that operations are running smoothly and that repairs meet quality standards and are completed and shipped in a timely manner
  • Work with front line managers to identify new ways to improve productivity and quality metrics and to scale production
  • Ensure that teams have the machines and tools needed to maximize production efficiency and meet quality standards
  • Set up, analyze and communicate weekly team productivity and quality metrics and data to identify areas for improvement; balance the team workload to ensure timelines are met
  • Own the workshop budget and work with finance to forecast changes
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure that teams follow all safety regulations

 

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Support key sustainability and North America customer experience initiatives; collaborate with front line managers on ideation and implementation
  • Foster productive cross-functional relationships with the NY workshop, product development, design, retail operations, facilities, and Tapestry ESG teams
  • Foster an open, transparent and collaborative culture that positions the Coach (Re)Loved and Repair Workshop as a trusted partner within Coach and Tapestry

 

 

The accomplished individual will possess….

  • 5+ years of managerial experience with a proven track record of mentoring and growing teams, preferably in a production environment
  • Experience in retail operations, product development, leathercraft, repairs or customer service
  • Exceptional project management skills; adept at planning and managing complex cross-functional initiatives and solving problems to drive execution
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with and influence cross-functional partners at all levels
  • Creative problem solver with strong business acumen and ability to innovate
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguity, adapt to changing priorities and drive with urgency
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Team player with positive attitude, strong initiative and self-motivated drive
  • Start-up experience a plus

 

An outstanding professional will have...

  • Bachelors degree in Business or related field
  • Experience in managing factories and labor

BASE PAY RANGE $130,000.00 TO $150,000.00 Annually
