The Sr. Technologist Cloud Engineer is a true technical leader that inspires creativity, innovation and technical leadership to the team. A technical leader focused on the execution component, that is agile and understands how to map the business needs to viable technology solutions and achieve desired results.


As a senior member of the Systems Architecture and Planning team, you will be responsible for the overall strategy, architecture and design of Tapestry’s enterprise cloud computing program. You will develop and coordinate cloud architecture, drive a cloud strategy and coordinate the adoption process with the network and information security teams, as well as various business units and application partners.  This person will serve as the subject matter expert for cloud transformation and should have a deep understanding of public cloud architecture, adoption patterns, and cloud providers.


You will lead the development of technology solutions for public, private and hybrid cloud models, including SaaS, IaaS, PaaS & other clouding computing models.  You will have breadth across technology stacks while leveraging a deep hands-on skillset to evaluate and recommend solutions in partnership with the engineering and development teams throughout the organization.

  • Collaborate with multiple technology services teams to develop our target state cloud architecture along with the roadmap required to achieve that target state.
  • Partner across business and technology disciplines in discussions to identify strategic cloud adoption requirements.
  • Keep abreast of and gain expertise in the evolving technology and understand how new technologies could be applied to our cloud offering.
  • Deliver solutions to improve the availability, scalability and efficiency of technology services to support business initiatives.
  • Provide direction on the selection of cloud services vendors, devices, tools and resources;
  • Lead the IT infrastructure engineering projects that involve Cloud Computing and Automation.
  • Design, build, and improve cloud environments on Amazon Web Services, Azure and traditional data center environments.
  • Execute POCs and feasibility studies to validate next-gen product concepts and technologies; leveraging results to guide business and technology decisions.
  • Manage environmental changes – consolidation, platform upgrades, and divestitures
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully and with an eye for simple, innovative solutions.


The accomplished individual will possess...




Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience

At least ten years of total IT experience

Significant experience within a medium to large scale enterprise infrastructure environment or Cloud deployment

Five to seven years of Architecture design experience in at least two IT disciplines in a client/server or service-oriented architecture (SOA) environment, including technical architecture, Identity and Access Management, Active Directory Services, Email management, network management, application development, middleware, database management or operations.

Experience in PCI and Sarbanes Oxley requirements and any other control or governance frameworks

Hard Skills:

  • Working knowledge and understanding of current cloud computing technologies, strategies & solutions from the major cloud services providers such as GCP, Azure, AWS and Softlayer.
  • Knowledge of modern enterprise infrastructure concepts including automation, security, cloud, containers
  • Understanding of Identity and Access management:  Active Directory, IDM tools, SSO, Dual Factor integration, etc.
  • Experience administering a hypervisor based virtualized infrastructure, i.e. vmware vsphere, hyper-v, etc.
  • Experience with networking and web standards such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, HTTP, web security mechanisms, proxies, firewalls & application delivery controllers.
  • Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity best practices and configuration.
  • Experience with build and automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible.
  • Deep understanding of DevOps technologies including Docker, Jenkins, and others
  • Familiarity with databases: SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, DB2, etc.
  • Experience writing scripts (JSON, Python, Powershell, Bash, etc) to help facilitate Enterprise Systems Automation.
  • Monitoring using Cloud Watch, Pulseways, Solarwinds, Splunk or similar service.Working knowledge of configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet & Ansible.
  • Experience with infrastructure operations and incident response
