Primary Purpose: The Director of Asset Protection and Safety Operations will be responsible for implementing and managing comprehensive security and safety strategies to safeguard the organization’s employees, assets and brand. The role involves managing physical security and safety operations, crisis management, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure the physical safety and security of the corporate New York office and the Enterprise. This is a highly responsible and visible role that provides strategic support and tactical management to ensure the security of associates, capital assets and proprietary information. Reporting to the Vice President, Global Asset Protection, Security and Safety, this role will be based in our New York office, 5 days per week.
The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Asset Protection and Safety to:
- Develop, implement and lead security strategies to ensure the safety and security of the corporate New York office and team members.
- Directly oversee Enterprise safety and security procedures through creation and implementation of long-term strategies, emergency preparedness, emergency response, crisis management, and oversight of a global security operations center (GSOC)
- Manage Enterprise Asset Protection life safety resources and physical security standards to foster a safe and secure environment across the Enterprise.
- Work with various internal departments to ensure that Asset Protection Programs are being executed as designed and having the anticipated impact on loss and safety trends through the development of reporting.
- Manage security and safety related repairs, maintenance, vendor relations, alternative sourcing, along with test and learn initiatives.
- Manage capital projects, expenses and the overall Asset Protection budget.
- Provide Asset Protection leadership and expertise in life safety system design to ensure physical security/safety requirements and standards are met.
- Review safety compliance and loss trends to assist in the development of standards, awareness, and training initiatives.
- Manage threats, critical incidents, emergency communication, and lead the Enterprise emergency response team and security personnel.
- Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and emergency response standards through planning and managing employee safety training and awareness initiatives, such as workplace violence prevention programs, drills for corporate employees and incident response team.
- Liaison with landlords and law enforcement to proactively evaluate and address safety risks.
- Manage security for all high-profile events at Hudson Yards (i.e. fashion shows, annual shareholders meetings, etc.) and coordinate with Executive Leadership and local law enforcement as needed.
- Monitor and manage the Enterprise Threat Assessment and Emergency Communication systems to evaluate risk, and lead security actions and protocols through the global security operations center (GSOC)
- Provide strategic guidance to Executive Leadership on security risks and mitigation strategies.
The accomplished individual will possess...
- 10+ years of related experience in corporate and executive security and retail asset protection
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Security Management, or Criminology preferred.
- Managed life safety system design, installation and project management
- Demonstrated experience with data analytics platforms, tools, and methodologies.
- Developed and/or managed a global security operations center (GSOC)
- Experience in promoting a culture of security and safety awareness across an organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically in working with datasets and creating pivot tables.
- Project management skills – effective consultation, interpersonal, prioritization of topics/issues and organization
- Demonstrated proficient investigation techniques and experience including familiarity in research and investigation.
- Strong communication skills including proficiency in PowerPoint.
