Analyst, Global Trade and Customs

This position is responsible for assisting the group’s efforts to ensure Tapestry’s HS classification processes, internal controls, and reporting are compliant with international laws & regulations. The individual will primarily provide international compliance support for areas such as product classification, auditing, self-testing, FTA validations, trade preference programs, admission eligibility, and analysis of trade issues. The position is located in our Jacksonville, FL office.


The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Global Customs & Trade to...

Perform on-going analysis of product:

•   Perform HTS classification of products for US, Europe, and Canada.

•   Identify and assist with tariff engineering opportunities during product development.

•   Identify and communicate any product eligibility issues.

•   Research and apply US Customs binding rulings.

•   Determine subjectivity to U.S. Fish and Wildlife and other government partner agencies.

•   Support other operational tasks as needed.

Self-Testing, FTA & C-TPAT Validations:

•   Support internal self-testing program, using both random & risk-based methodologies.

•   Assess/evaluate import entry and export filing for accuracy.

•   Investigate root cause for any inaccuracies.

•   Support preparation & filing any PSC with U.S. customs.

•   Review products’ eligibility for duty reductions programs.

•   Support Tapestry’s C-TPAT program, by issuing and monitoring Security Risk Assessment Questionnaires.


The accomplished individual will possess…

•   B.A or B.S. in Business, Supply Chain, Legal, Accounting, Finance, Audit, or 2 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.

•   Must have an interest in international trade and customs topics.

•   Minimum 1-3 years work experience, preferably in multi-national environment.

•   Experience in HTS product classification and researching customs rulings and compliance publications (plus).

•   Flexible, adaptable, collaborative in a fast changing environment.

•   Strong analytical and good decision-making skills.

•   Curious, always willing to learn and ability to understand and apply complex trade concepts.

•   Ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks, follows-through completion of tasks/projects.

•   Ability to search, interpret and apply complex government regulations in actionable activities as appropriate.

•   Strong written and verbal communication skills.

•   Must be able to effectively communicate complex Customs and Trade issues to a non-expert audience, internally and externally.

•   MS Office proficiency, advance excel skills (plus).
