Job Title: Senior Manager – Income Tax 

 

Primary Purpose: The Sr. Manager, Income Tax position manages key aspects of Tapestry’s global tax function in partnership with the Senior Tax Director and other team members. The role provides instrumental support in preparing the quarterly and annual global tax provisions and leads the accurate and timely preparation of domestic federal and state income tax returns.  

 

The successful individual will carry their proficiency in Tax to meet the following... 

 

•    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (required) 

•    CPA license (required) 

•    Minimum of 10 years of experience with a blend of Big 4 or corporate industry experience 

•    Strong technical tax skills 

•    Ability to apply critical thinking, prioritize and problem solve 

•    Ability to be a self-starter who takes initiative and is highly motivated 

•    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

•    Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills 

•    An attitude of collaboration with business partners 

•    An inquisitive nature with an inherent desire to uncover the facts 

•    Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks 

•    The ability to foster a collaborative team environment 

•    Ability to analyze global accounting practices and their impact on current and proposed tax policies 

•    Ability to adapt to change  

•    Ability to proactively follow up on open items 

 

An outstanding professional will have...

  • Advanced degree desired, Masters in Taxation a plus 
  • Retail industry experience a plus 
  • Understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting rules and pronouncements 
  • Public company SEC reporting experience 
  • Strong technical tax research experience 
  • Knowledge of tax software, experience with reporting and analytics tools a plus 
  • Experience with OneSource a plus 
  • Proficient with Excel and Word
  • Strong technical tax research experience
