Senior Manager, European Statutory Financial Reporting

Senior Manager of Statutory Financial Reporting will report to the Director – Senior Counsel with dotted line reporting to the Senior Vice President – Tax and Senior Director, Controller of European Accounting.  This high profile position will be involved with interesting, complex tax and accounting issues and will play an integral part in managing the European statutory reporting process. This person will be responsible for all European legal and regulatory statutory reporting requirements, be intricately involved in strategic planning.  This individual will also be involved in developing, modifying and executing Company policies that affect the legal entity structure and/or operations.


This individual will coordinate with finance personnel in Europe, Asia and the United States and will take the lead on interfacing and proactively guiding European work performed by outside financial reporting advisors. There will be regular interaction with senior management on legal entity issues. The Senior Manager will be responsible for effectively interacting with multiple functional areas to resolve complex statutory reporting issues.

The successful candidate will leverage their proficiency in Accounting to assist in managing the European statutory reporting operations which includes strategic planning, regulatory compliance and statutory financial statement reporting.  The successful individual will contribute in the following areas…..


Financial Reporting:

  • Play a hands-on role in leading the preparation of annual statutory financial statements including maintaining a standardized approach to bridge US GAAP results to local statutory results in a manner that provides consistency and a high degree of visibility across jurisdictions. 
  • Where required, coordinating with the external advisors on how to maintain local ledgers and statutory adjustments in an approved local software
  • Lead interaction with Tapestry’s external auditors in producing audited statutory financial statements by providing timely responses to all PBC requests and proactively developing the optimal way to respond to audit inquiries involving unique or complex issues. 
  • Coordinating with Tapestry’s company secretaries the required communication of commercial registries when statutory accounts are finalized.
  • At the direction of the Senior Vice President of Global Tax, assist with tax calculations required in quarterly and annual SEC US GAAP close process including the preparation and analysis of Company’s standard tax reporting package. 


Transfer Pricing


Candidate will work at the direction of the Vice President of Transfer Pricing to:


  • Monitor Tapestry’s transfer pricing policy in all European jurisdictions, especially in connection with Customs and Treasury-related matters.
  • Assist in forecasting transfer pricing impact for European jurisdictions and developing models to improve accuracy of forecasted results.
  • Support the in-house transfer pricing compliance process (development of the annual transfer pricing reports) for European entities and participation in the annual functional analysis cycle.
  • Support Vice President of Transfer Pricing with transfer pricing audits in European jurisdictions.




  • Develop a thorough understanding and involvement with finance and business personnel in order to identify statutory reporting issues as they arise and helping develop appropriate strategy for responding to issues accordingly.
  • Attend seminars and professional development opportunities to ensure continuance of company compliance in new developments regarding statutory reporting regulations and policies.
  • Lead continuous process improvements and integration of various aspects of the statutory reporting functions to achieve optimal efficiency, effective controls, and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with key internal controls in support of the Company’s financial reporting process, the proper functionality of which plays an important role in determining whether the Company’s overall internal controls are functioning effectively.

An outstanding professional will have...

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 8 years tax or accounting experience at multinational public company or major accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and US GAAP reporting principles.
  • Internal Controls experience.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Retail experience a plus.
