The Primary Purpose:  

 

This role is within the Finance Control team of Tapestry Europe, which covers 12 countries and 3 brands, supporting approximately 100 stores as well as eCommerce. The Inventory Control Analyst reports into this position.

 

The Inventory Manager is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of store inventory data held on the Store Inventory Management systems, and in SAP.

 

He/she ensures the integrity of physical inventory processes both between warehouse and stores and within stores, and owns the reconciliation and payment of the intercompany payables related to inventory purchases.

 

They will own the month end processes for Inventory Control to allow accurate financial reporting, ensuring appropriate posting of shrink reserves and any other required adjustments. They will own the balance sheet reconciliations related to the inventory balances in the financial statements.

 

They will work with Retail Operations to perform periodic stock counts and follow up on results appropriately.  They will take a lead role in identifying and implementing improvements to store processes and internal controls in this area, particularly as we try to standardise procedures across the three brands.

 

The Inventory Control Manager needs to work cross-functionally (particularly with the store teams, Retail Operations, IT and Loss Prevention) and build strong working relationships across the business.

 

The accomplished individual will possess…

 

  • Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • At least 3 years’ relevant experience in a multi-store retail business
  • Experience managing direct report(s)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated, flexible and performance-oriented; able to work independently under time pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability and willingness to see beyond the immediate remit of the role to drive team success.
  • Tenacity and stamina consistently to drive process improvements that withstand pressure
  • Advanced Excel skills
