Primary Purpose: The Merchandise Planner position is responsible for all merchandising planning activities associated with Tapestry EMEAI for both Kate Spade & Coach (distributors, travel retail, and wholesale)

The ideal candidate will be required to manage and develop a balanced assortment offering based on wholesale partners’ needs and company strategic goals. This is a key role in delivering performance against sales, SKU productivity, and product sell through.

 

 

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in to:

 

  • Understand each of the region within market, analyze consumer and retail trends, market landscape, and competitive environment
  • Collaborate with Local Merchandising & Buying Teams to understand seasonal strategies, priorities and newness styles relevant for wholesale business
  • Work with Local Merchandise Planning Team on department growth strategies and key investment guidance to increase SKU productivity
  • Engage in seasonal line reviews with Global & Local Teams, highlighting current selling trends and product gaps to influence future product creation.
  • Building concise localized Range Plans to effectively communicate needs for brands/channels/regions
  • Create consumer-focused assortments for each region considering store profiles, VM space capacity and SKU productivity
  • Responsible for identifying any needs in merchandising assortment during seasonal product opportunity (SPO) process.
  • Partner with Sales Teams and Wholesale Accounts to gather product feedback
  • Responsible for the order and management of samples for Market
  • Consolidation of Wholesale accounts tiering following on from MTF market download
  • Own linesheet creation and maintenance ensuring all information is accurate inclusive of pricing
  • Pricing – partner with relevant teams to review international pricing grid updates bi-annually
  • Own third party B2B platform (Joor & Nuorder) including linesheet creation & management; ownership of product, inventory & pricing data.
  • Key point of contact for Go To Market process. Responsible for creating and presenting seasonal assortment line opening to both cross functional teams and external partners, clearly articulating brand  & key investment strategy in collaboration with demand planning team
  • Manage any updates on sample correctness working with Showroom Assistant
  • Contribute to top investment strategy in prep for global buy review meeting seasonally
  • Seasonal assortment hindsight to support future refinement of assortment to minimize risk & promote productivity.
  • Ensure changes in the Product Change Log are shared with relevant cross functional teams

 

 

The accomplished individual will possess: 

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Cross Functional Expertise & Experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in retail, B2B, franchise or wholesale experience 
  • Proven track record of buying/merchandising success for multinational brand/company
  • Analytical skills and ability to translate data into action points
  • Ability to perform well under pressure with multiple deadlines
  • Experience in merchandising/planning systems and SAP a plus 

 

An outstanding professional will have:

  • Comfortable in presenting and communicating to upper management
  • Self-starter and able to work independently and as a team player
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel 
  • BA/BS university degree or its equivalent in merchandising, business, finance, economics, or supply chain.
