Primary Purpose: Support the Senior Manager, European Statutory Reporting with the statutory audits required of Tapestry’s European entities (as well as other certain compliance requirements). This high profile position will be involved with interesting, complex accounting and tax issues, and will play an integral part in the European statutory reporting process.

 

This individual will work on the European regulatory statutory reporting, and be a vital player in their successful completion and filing.  This individual will also help monitor Company policies that affect the legal entity structure and/or operations of across all Tapestry brands in Europe.

 

This individual will interface with our European auditors and accountants, monitor and manage the requests from the same and interact with multiple functional areas in Europe, Asia and the United States to obtain information and support for the reports. This individual should have the drive and business savvy to effectively resolve any issues that arise in connection with the statutory reports.

 

The successful candidate will leverage their proficiency in accounting and strong organizational skills to assist the Senior Manager of Statutory Financial Reporting

 

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Finance to...

 

  • Work with the Senior Manager, Statutory Reporting to ensure the successful progress, and timely filing, of the European financial statements; and support communication of the same to the European Finance team.
  • Play a hands-on role in monitoring, managing and working with functions across the business to complete requests from auditors/accountants, and drive the successful completion of the European Statutory audits.
  • Help collate and prepare support for auditors/accountants, where required.
  • Proactively seek to address queries from auditors/accountants.
  • Lead the preparation (working with local accountants) to complete the non-audited statutory filings in Europe. This includes playing a hands on role in preparing and gathering supporting information, and ultimately ensuring successful completion and filing by the statutory deadline.
  • Support co-ordination with Tapestry’s company secretaries to complete necessary formalities connected to statutory filings.
  • Assist with managing the invoicing and budgeting process associated with the statutory audits
  • Develop a thorough understanding and involvement with finance and business personnel in order to identify statutory reporting issues as they arise and helping develop appropriate strategy for responding to issues accordingly.
  • Attend seminars and professional development opportunities to ensure continuance of company compliance in new developments regarding statutory reporting regulations and policies.
  • Assist with, and bring ideas to the table for, continuous process improvements and integration of various aspects of the statutory reporting functions to achieve optimal efficiency, effective controls, and quality.

 

The accomplished individual will possess...

 

  • Strong technical accounting skills essential. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a recognized accounting qualification ACA/ACCA.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Advance knowledge of Excel.
  • Self-starter, takes initiative, highly motivated.
  • Ability to multi task and be flexible regarding changing priorities and tight deadlines; and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Minimum of 3 years accounting experience at multinational public company or major accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting reporting principles. US GAAP knowledge or experience a plus.
  • Internal Controls experience.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Retail experience a plus.
