At Tapestry, the Head of the Agile PMO will manage, report on, and ensure alignment of our IT & Digital capital portfolio. They are responsible to assist in the delivery of the technology portfolio, as well as helping improve the overall agile maturity across the organization. As part of this undertaking the Head of the Agile PMO will lead the transition from traditional portfolio management that has an established process, to help define and build technology’s global Agile product strategy. They will be a key leader to work with all levels of the organization to affect positive, sustainable change.

Through collaboration with peers and business partners they will drive the execution of the IT strategy. As a leader within the business of IT, this role is not static and will integrate constantly changing dynamics into an evolving enterprise methodology and delivery practice. The Head Agile PMO, must combine strong delivery and lean process experience, and a proven track record of transforming large scale delivery from traditional methodologies to agile and beyond.

The Head of the Agile PMO ensures that the governance work adds value, is relevant to the strategy of the organization, and meets the goals set out by the IT Leadership Team. They will balance agility with the need for formal governance, whilst applying empirical continuous improvement to meet the control needs of our business.


Essential Responsibilities

  •  Develop and leads the Agile Practice, putting in place the systems, processes and ways of working to sustain a high performing team, where skill development, increased agility, collaboration and improved ways of working are key to success. 
  • Hold Quarterly Business Reviews to ensure ongoing visibility to portfolios and connection to the brands and enterprise functional groups.
  • Evolve and continually improve the interdependencies between business models and operating practices, integrating waterfall, iterative, and agile delivery models into one, cohesive delivery strategy to best meet the evolving organizational needs.
  • Drive Annual planning processes and timelines as well as off-cadence requests.
  • Partner to transition from a project/program centric process to that of product.
  • Partner across all IT, Digital and Business Leadership teams to identify, prioritize and plan long range plans as well as annual roadmaps
  • Engage with Global cross-functional teams across to continuously evaluate resource capacity and budget ensuring annual plans and off-cadence requests are properly evaluated and prioritized.
  • Build an Agile Portfolio and Demand Management team as well as communication of strategies, processes, metrics and tools to promote visibility and alignment across IT and Business.
  • Maintain relationships with cross-functional partners including Finance, vendor mgmt., Procurement.
  • Continuously evaluate tools, methodologies, and processes to improve portfolio planning, tracking of KPI's, and efficiencies
  • Hold a quarterly training to align the global technology team on any new or emerging governance changes related to the IT portfolio (finance/vender mgmt./procurement).


  • Ten or more years of experience in IT and business/industry
  • Three to five years of agile or product leadership responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams
  • Experience with one or more agile or lean methodologies (Lean, Scrum, Kanban, Devops, SAFe).
  • Program management skills and experience, plus significant knowledge of productivity tools with evidence of practical application (which is highly desirable).
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate the strategic vision, and inspire and motivate staff.
  • A distinctive blend of business, IT, financial and communication skills. (This is a highly visible position with substantial impact.)
  • Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills.
  • Strong business acumen, including industry, domain-specific knowledge of the enterprise and its business units.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain IT concepts and technologies to business leaders.
  • A strong facilitator with experience engaging teams in a collaborative, distributed environment
  • Listens and supports people in problem identification and decision-making, creating an environment of mutual influence
