Primary Purpose:

This position will assume full ownership of a wide range of account reconciliations, fiscal close activity as well as perform financial analysis. The candidate must demonstrate good analytical skills, be detail oriented and organized. The candidate must exhibit a clear, fluid understanding of financial statements reporting (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) and how they relate to one another. The individual must also possess solid basic GAAP accounting knowledge.

The candidate must be able to maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and exercise strong internal control practices. The position must seek ways to eliminate non-value added tasks and improve process flow. The candidate must poses strong communication skills and be responsive to requests. Ability to proactively follow up on open items, handle multiple assignments, be adaptable to change and work through obstacles are essential attributes.

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Accounting to…

  • Apply proper accounting treatment to our financial statements
  • Take ownership over various banking activities including cash, investments, and intercompany transactions
  • Liaise with the FP&A department to review/validate data for proper record of accrued expenses
  • Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and exercise strong internal controls
  • Review journal entries and reconciliations prepared by 3rd party service provider for accuracy, timeliness, and to ensure proper supporting documentation is included to substantiate account balances
  • Perform monthly close procedures and journal entries
  • Develop and implement process improvements and enhancements within the financial / accounting environment to streamline tasks
  • Work with independent auditors on year-end Tapestry audit and quarterly reviews
  • Assist in balance sheet account general ledger maintenance
  • Perform consolidated fixed asset rollforward
  • Assist in supporting FX calculations, analyses & processes for our international subs
  • Prepare various ad hoc financial reporting for management and special projects, as necessary

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • 1-2 years in public or private accounting
  • Proficient with Excel & Word
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Hyperion/Smartview experience a plus
  • CPA preferred or striving towards
