Job Title:  Financial Analyst, Insurance

Primary Purpose: The Financial Analyst, Insurance, is an integral member of the global Treasury team and is responsible for accurate financial reporting and analytics to support appropriate accounting, risk evaluation and insurance coverage.  

 

The successful individual will leverage proficiency in Finance to...

  • Provide transparent and reliable insurance and claim reports to senior management and other partners
  • Collect and evaluate financial and operational information for underwriting submission
  • Analyze and provide recommendation for allocation methodology for insurance premiums based on underwriting exposures
  • Liaise with broker and internal business partners to ensure quotes, binders, premium invoices, paid receipts, evidence of insurance and other required documentation for the global portfolio are issued and tracked to completion, in a timely fashion
  • Timely and accurate submission of assigned claims; help facilitate the investigation and resolution in a timely fashion Identify, analyze and report claim trends; assist in the development of appropriate loss prevention techniques, where applicable
  • Analyze and provide recommendations on reserve and settlement requests
  • Participate in claim reviews, stewardship and insurance renewal meetings with TPAs and Brokers
  • Assist in providing ad hoc exceptions to 3rd party contractual insurance terms
  • Ensure accurate data submission and insurance forms to meet regulatory or statutory requirements and to comply with contract obligations
  • Track, fulfill and monitor Certificates of Insurance requests 
  • Prepare, validate and track all insurance related invoices
  • Partner with Accounting to reconcile IBNR reserve, accrual and prepaid accounts and prepare monthly reporting reconciling forecast to actuals
  • Assist with ad hoc or special projects and other duties within Treasury team

 

The accomplished individual will possess...

  • BA or BS in Finance, Accounting or Economics
  • 2-3 years of experience in finance, insurance or an analytical field
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications; Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Familiarity of basic property, casualty and FINEX/FINPRO coverages and concepts a plus
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Highly organized and proactive with acute attention to detail and accuracy
