Primary Purpose:

 

Tapestry’s International Store Planning & Construction Team oversees the construction and renovation of Coach, Kate Spade & Stuart Weitzman Stores to meet preapproved designs, budgets and schedules, in order to achieve the required sales plan established by the Retail divisions. As a part of this dynamic team, the Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for maintaining the schedule, budget and accuracy of construction standard operating procedures to ensure Tapestry reaches its aggressive goals of seeking out and developing in new markets as well as renovations to existing locations.

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Store Planning & Construction to..

 

  • Participate in the project management processes and budget planning
  • Manage small projects e.g enhancements, fixture drop and rollout projects.
  • Assist managers in taking care of the fine details of a large project
  • Coordinate and ensure smooth operation of multiple projects from start to finish
  • Collect data, analyze it, and help project managers to set objectives for a project
  • Ensure changes in project plan are communicated to team members
  • Carry out quality reviews and checks to ensure project operations are in line with industry best practices
  • Fill in for project managers by managing daily operations in their absence
  • Create and issue SBO (Supplied by Owner) logs
  • Assist PM / SPM’s in tracking SBO (Supplied by Owner) material
  • Respect decision-making boundaries and know when to call the attention of the manager.
  • Develop and maintain historical construction cost data specific to region
  • Maintain design standards and project files.
  • Consolidate cost evaluation, invoices into summary for each project
  • Manage millwork deliveries in conjunction with Production team
  • Produce weekly status report on all projects, track all project stages from landlord’s feedback, design development, material orders, vendors/contractor progress
  • Develop critical path and timeline for each project with Microsoft Project
  • Review construction fit-out drawings from contractor/vendors
  • Assist PM / SPM’S conclude budgetary close-out of projects within acceptable time-frames
  • Work on ad-hoc projects as and when needed
  • Travel to project locations required 

 

The accomplished individual will possess...

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in either Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years Retail Construction experience
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office Suite, including MS Project
  • Strong multi-tasking ability
  • Strong communication, prioritization skills and flexibility in fluid international market.
  • Collaborative and able to work across multiple discipline internal and external teams
  • Have a valid US passport

 

An outstanding professional will have...

  • Understanding of CAD and or Procore
  • Work experience in a US headquartered company
  • Knowledge of other European languages, i.e. in particular Spanish.
