Primary Purpose: This role is for a junior attorney, who will support the work of the Legal Department at Tapestry’s New York corporate headquarters. The position requires a high level of discretion, good judgment and the ability to interact with all levels within the organization and external stakeholders on a regular basis.  The role will be in-person in the NY Hudson Yards office at least three days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) and will report to the VP, Deputy General Counsel.

 

 

The successful individual will leverage their legal proficiency to...

  • Research, prioritize, track and follow up on legal developments and evolving regulations, including in AI, corporate governance, employment, contracting, IP and privacy.
  • Assist with document collection, review and retention and draft responses to subpoenas, discovery requests and litigation and administrative matters
  • Maintain litigation tracking and case management systems
  • Draft and review corporate policies, compliance and corporate governance protocols
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including NDAs, vendor contracts, and service agreements.
  • Support contract lifecycle management and template development.
  • Assist with investigations and ensure sensitive and confidential information is handled with appropriate discretion
  • Identify and escalate legal and business risks.
  • Provide practical advice and guidance, both verbally and in writing, for a variety of business partners
  • Assist with compliance rollouts and special projects and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Set up legal vendors in Tapestry’s vendor management systems, coordinate requests for third party due diligence for legal department vendors
  • Assist with name clearance and other IP-related research
  • Process invoices and settlement payments
  • Regularly communicate and interact with cross-functional Tapestry teams and vendors

 

The accomplished individual will possess...

  • Familiarity with Title VII, ADA, FMLA, VII, wage and hour laws and other federal, state and local employment laws;
  • An understanding of key contracting terms and drafting principles
  • An understanding of privacy and information governance protocols
  • Familiarity with intellectual property risks
  • Outstanding organization abilities and prioritization skills
  • Superior follow through skills and a customer service-oriented mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • A demonstrated commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
  • A desire to learn from a great team and take on new challenges

 

An outstanding professional will have...

  • 0-3 years of experience
  • Juris Doctorate
  • Admission and member in good standing of the bar of New York State (or having taken the NYS Bar Exam with admission planned for January 2026)
  • Experience working independently and as part of a team to complete projects
  • Knowledge of the retail industry is a plus
  • Experience using Contract Lifecyle Management Tools (like DocuSign) and strong technological aptitude

BASE PAY RANGE $90,000.00 TO $120,000.00 Annually
