Overall Objective:

 

In North America People Services, we support leaders, managers and core team members across all areas of the Company (Tapestry, Coach, Kate Spade, Stuart Weitzman) by balancing a modern self-service mindset with the need for customized guidance on complex topics.

 

The primary purpose of this position is to help Tapestry HR deliver on its purpose to enable an inspirational and modern culture where exceptional talent thrives within the brand affiliated US Retail/Outlet business.  As a member of the North American People Services team, reporting to the Director of North American People Partners, you’ll have the opportunity to support one of our brand Retail/Outlet stores population.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • People Partner: Builds and maintains strong relationships with employees at all levels within their respective field client group to include the extended HR community in addition to cross-functional colleagues.
  • Talent Management: Together with Brand Field and HR leadership supports talent strategy, participates in selection of multi-store and store managers, completes new leader assimilations, supports onboarding, and manages talent review processes. Additionally, coaches people managers to develop stronger leaders and bolster their talent management and HR competencies.
  • Performance Management: Ensures management consistently applies performance management philosophy and practices aligned to business and people strategies.  Successfully manages complex performance issues.  
  • Employee Relations: Skillfully manages resolution of employee issues including escalation of sensitive or urgent employee relations matters.
  • Trend Analysis:  Monitors external and internal trends, spots issues and provides analysis and recommendations.
  • Employee Engagement: Leads efforts in analyzing engagement surveys, focus groups and exit interviews and takes an active role in action planning and monitoring progress against plans.
  • Project Management: Leads and/or supports HR projects or represents HR on Cross-functional initiatives.
  • Other: Other responsibilities assigned based on business requirements.

 

The accomplished individual will possess...

  • A Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years’ experience in Human Resources preferably within a Generalist or HR Business Partner role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of US employment practices, legal and compliance guidelines.
  • Retail industry experience a plus.
  • Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • Experience with performance management, talent management, and change management.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to diagnose problems in addition to identifying and driving appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to relate to, influence and coach employees at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge convention.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to analyze data, understand trends, develop recommendations for action.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the retail clients across various time zones (including during peak holiday season and when stores are open weeknights and weekends).
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft platforms (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with SuccessFactors a plus.
  • Ability to travel 10%-20%.
