JOB SUMMARY: 

This individual will play an important role in supporting the preparation of the Annual Report on Form 10-K, Quarterly Reports on 10-Q and other SEC filings (proxy, 8-K, etc.) as well as statutory reporting. The role also involves supporting the team in certain key projects and non-routine transactions.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·     Assist in preparation, support and review of financial statements, footnotes and MD&A disclosures for quarterly and annual SEC filings (Forms 10-Q, 10-K)

·     Assist in reviewing financial press releases and materials related to the earnings release conference call to ensure accuracy of information and consistency with other financial filings

·     Coordinate quarterly review and annual audit procedures with external auditors

·     Assist in evaluating the impact of new accounting pronouncements and financial reporting developments

·     Help oversee and mentor an analyst on the SEC reporting team

·     Assist in preparing the 401(k) and Puerto Rico Statutory financial statements and footnotes, as well as coordinating with the external auditors for each report

·     Assist in SOX testing and compliance

·     Complete ad hoc projects as required, including assisting with goodwill and intangible impairment testing
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·     Minimum 5 years’ work experience in SEC reporting within a mix of public accounting and publicly held company environments

·     Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required. CPA required.

·     Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial controls (SOX 404 and COSO framework), leading practices, process analysis, and risk assessment

·     Excellent verbal, written, listening, computer, quantitative, and presentation skills

·     Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix environment; capable of gaining cross-functional commitment and coordinated action for initiatives

·     Able to successfully multi-task the management and delivery of multiple complex projects with key stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

·     Proven adaptive capability and demonstrated familiarity with organizational change
