Primary Purpose:

The Strategy team facilitates the development of Tapestry's long-term growth strategy and mid-term operational decisions, providing fact-based analysis, consumer insights and practical recommendations to key decision makers across the Tapestry organization.

 

The team performs primary consumer research, investigates overall market trends and conducts detailed analyses to help business partners across brands, functional areas and geographies develop key insights about their businesses.

 

The China market and Chinese consumer broadly is the largest growth driver for tapestry and also the luxury market more broadly. Within this context, the Manager, Strategy and Consumer Insights will focus on the China market, understanding of the consumer, and opportunities to grow each of our Tapestry brands.

 

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Strategy to...

 

  • Work closely with each of the brand’s China and international organizations to identify and diagnose their key challenges in the market and identify key growth opportunities. To answer these questions, the manager will conduct primary research – through quantitative consumer surveys, qualitative focus groups, as well as secondary understanding of the market.
  • Work with the Kate Spade teams and Stuart Weitzman teams on key projects where additional support is needed – for example, brand positioning, product portfolio.
  • As part of a broader Strategy and Data Labs team, work closely with the data labs team in bringing customer analytics to the business problems.
  • Work with the Strategy team and business partners to proactively identify, develop and drive strategies and initiatives that will result in profitable growth for the company.
  • Support Senior Management in strategic decision-making
  • Develop relevant hypotheses and support/disprove them through data analysis and insights
  • Develop strong relationships with business partners at all levels
  • Use both quantitative and qualitative data sources to drive decisions and successfully generate results
  • Plan, organize, and support consumer research by working closely with internal team and external vendors

 

The accomplished individual will possess...

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred
  • 3-5 years work experience, with ideally 2 years in management consulting, investment banking or strategy at a consumer focused company
  • Significant experience in modeling and creating compelling insights from data
  • Strong lateral-thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to generate innovative insights from rigorous analysis
