The role for Portfolio and IT Strategic Communications will be responsible for the overarching communication for all of IT. They will work with senior IT leaders to understand and shape the messages that need to be conveyed to both internal IT stakeholders as well as key business partners. Their primary function will be to elevate and make all IT communications more effective.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Define standards for IT communications, manage and maintain templates, signatures, and other shared resources for communications within/from IT.
  • Develop regular departmental newsletter.
  • Draft and manage planned outage communications.
  • Develop exciting and engaging graphics and write-ups to help promote the work of IT both within the department and out to the business.
  • Collaborate with the IT portfolio management organization to develop effective IT’s enterprise communications for the active, planned, complete IT portfolio.
  • Work across IT departments to develop communications for changes and other IT notifications.
  • Partner with Internal Corporate Communications teams to develop plans for communications and timing.
  • Maintain the department, team and tool-specific areas of the company intranet, updating documents and information posted to various pages.
  • Turn technical information into easy to understand communications and documentation that general users can follow, or creates excitement about the work taking place in IT. Ideal candidate will not be afraid to admit when they don’t know/understand something, and will ask questions/follow up to get further information or clarity.
  • Coordinate and run various IT Meetings, including but not limited to – Town Halls, Lunch and Learns,  Roundtables, focused curated conversations with senior leaders, etc
  • They will need to have a thorough understanding of the brands’ or functions’ strategic and operational objectives, and help represent the business’ point of view on technology communications. 
  • They will have a deep understanding of Tapestry’s current-state IT portfolio and strategic technology roadmap and would be aware of emerging technological trends to inform communications both internal to IT and with the greater Tapestry functions/brands.

 

 

Required Skills:

  • Excellent Written Communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – needs to work across teams and even departments to deliver messages
  • Self-direct activities by effective prioritization, goal setting, time management and planning
  • Creative/able to translate stats and information into a visual representation
  • Ability to write highly technical information in very simple terms
  • Basic Photoshop skills (or other similar technology)
  • Basic understanding of graphic design principles
  • Ability to thrive, adjust and function with ambiguity

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with PoliteMail (or other mass-mail tool)
  • Experience with SAP Jam
  • Advanced Photoshop skills
