Sr. Software Development Engineer, Backend, Tapestry Analytics

 

The Analytics group at Tapestry is the center of excellence for data science and deep learning. Through the application of machine learning algorithms and intuitive web applications and APIs, Analytics is transforming the way Tapestry employees interact with our customers globally.

 

Primary Purpose: This Sr. Backend Engineer position will serve as the owner for scalable backend development of applications for Tapestry’s Analytics group, enabling the success of our people, our company and our brands through the development of human-centric data-powered applications. The Engineer will report to the Engineering Team Lead for Data Labs, and participate in the development and delivery of intuitive, machine-learning powered web applications for all of Tapestry’s global brands.

 

A successful candidate in this role will leverage their experiences to:

  • Help drive product prioritization and detailed product definition for Tapestry’s Data Labs web applications
  • Design scalable backend systems and services for application ecosystem
  • Work collaboratively with front-end engineering and platforms engineering teams to deliver on product roadmap
  • Establish engineering best practices for the rest of the team and Tapestry organization
  • Partner with brand stakeholders to conduct usability testing and user feedback sessions

 

Qualified candidates will have:

  • 3+ years of engineering experience with proven track record of delivering products
  • Bachelors in Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience leading the development of Internet products
  • Experience with Java
  • Experience with backend database systems, including NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB
  • Experience with development lifecycle and Agile methodologies
  • Strong familiarity with microservices architecture

 

Other preferred qualifications include:

  • Familiarity with Serverless frameworks
  • Experience with React.js and Redux
  • Interest in and/or experience with data science and machine learning applications
  • Interest in analytics and business intelligence tools
