Primary Purpose: The Senior Accountant will have responsibilities on the Corporate Accounting team supporting all of Tapestry’s brands.. The role will maintain balance sheet reconciliations and will perform monthly close procedures including journal entries. The Senior Accountant liaises with cross-functional departments to ensure data accuracy and oversees various Sarbanes-Oxley policies and controls.  This role requires cross-functional partnership on all levels with both internal and external stakeholders and provides the opportunity to drive process improvements within the finance team.

 

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Accounting to...

 

  • Apply proper accounting treatment to our financial statements
  • Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and exercise strong internal controls
  • Prepare FX calculations, analyses & processes for our international subs
  • Liaise with the HR and FP&A department to review/validate data for proper record of expenses
  • Develop and implement process improvements within the financial / accounting environment Perform monthly close procedures and journal entries
  • Review journal entries and reconciliations prepared by 3rd party service provider for accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation Work with independent auditors on year-end audit and quarterly reviews
  • Oversee various Sarbanes-Oxley policies and controls
  • Assist in balance sheet account general ledger maintenance
  • Prepare various ad hoc financial reporting for management and special projects, as necessary

An outstanding professional will have...

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • 2-3 years of work experience in public or private accounting
  • Proficient with Excel & Word
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Hyperion/Smartview experience a plus
  • CPA or CPA in process preferred
