Primary Purpose: The Senior Accountant will provide accounting support for the Stuart Weitzman brand accounting team. Team responsibilities include licensing, marketing, sales allowance reserves, store impairment, and inventory. The Senior Accountant will work closely with Senior Manager and SW Controller and will be responsible for the preparation of various journal entries, as well as the completion of period-end account reconciliations.

 

Position Summary:

The role of the Senior Accountant is accountable for:

  • Month end close responsibilities including journal entry preparation, reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts and SOX checklist management
  • Ownership of various processes surrounding wholesale and inventory accounting including monthly price testing, NRV and sales allowance reserves
  • Working closely with FP&A and other business partners to understand business initiatives and the accounting impact thereof
  • Working closely with Tapestry Corporate Accounting to evaluate SW-related processes performed by Tapestry Accounting
  • Ensuring compliance with SOX requirements and assisting with requests from internal and external auditors
  • Assisting in preparation of semi-quarterly business analyses for Management’s review
  • Aiding in special projects and ad hoc reporting as requested from internal and external businesses

The accomplished individual will possess:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Accounting, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent credential required
  • 3 - 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent team player who works extremely well in a collaborative environment
  • Attention to detail and delivery focused
  • Self-starter and strong desire to learn
  • Ability to multi task and strong organizational skills
  • Strong pc skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

An outstanding professional will have:

  • Public Accounting experience (preferably Big Four experience) 
  • SAP experience  
  • Corporate retail or wholesale experience
