Title:    Senior Manager, Footwear Technical

Primary Purpose: 

The Senior Manager, Footwear Technical is responsible for supporting the operational strategy of all Tapestry Footwear product, alongside the Sr. Director, from proto-sample development through finished goods production and delivery.

The Senior Manager assist the product development and commercialization process working in close collaboration with Sr. Director and all of the internal and external cross functional partners from Design to Merchandising, Asia Teams, Materials, Quality, and Factory/Service provider partners to deliver the collection.

  1. Product Development

 

  • Maintain a constant flow of communication between NY PD, cross functional partners from Design to Merchandising and Asia PD.
  • Assist reviewing prototypes/samples taking comments in preparation for development meetings. 
  • Knowledge of sample fit and line corrections to support design team. 
  • Organize comments files in share drive Egnyte 
  • Comprehend PDT calendar and milestone dates.
  • Follow up samples shipping and tracking.
  • Manage wear test program charts and samples distribution.
  • Assist with samples comments and forms before communicating over to PD/commercialization in Asia.

 

Relationship and Information Management:

 

  • Maintain daily communications with the CIL PD and Commercialization partners.
  • Participate on CTR meetings with Asia team to review Commercialization status.
  • Follow up Commercialization to maintain Fit Samples and Wear Test schedule on time 
  • Monitor all necessary Wear Test reports in the system on a timely basis.

 

The accomplished individual will possess...

 

  • 10+ years’ experience in footwear development. Preferably in luxury fashion shoes.
  • Fundamental technical knowledge of fit, patterns, lasts, materials and footwear constructions. 
  • Product eye and ability to recognize design information into prototypes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic footwear costing. 
  • Ability to multitask and strong sense of teamwork. 
  • Strong communication skills in written and oral English.

Self-motivated, able to work under pressure and sense of urgency.
