The Senior Manager, Insurance, reports to the Assistant Treasurer and is responsible for the administration of the company’s global insurance programs.  This role will interact regularly with other departments and staff throughout the Company in order to establish industry best practices.

 

Responsibilities

  • Analysis and development of appropriate and optimal insurance program structures
  • Negotiation of cost-effective coverage and terms and conditions across insurance policies
  • Management of accurate and timely underwriting data submission for program renewals
  • Manage all corporate wide insurance matters including reviewing operations, identifying gaps, and recommending new coverages as needed
  • Budget responsibilities for risk management, including allocation of costs to business units, reserving process within organization for insured losses, and variances analyses (e.g., forecast-to-actual)`
  • Development and reporting of key performance metrics
  • Analysis of claims and loss information to identify trends and mitigate future losses
  • Management of property, marine cargo and finpro claims from carrier notification to claim closure
  • Oversight and support of claims and litigation for which Tapestry has insurance coverage or self-insured retention, in partnership with Legal and applicable operating units
  • Development of policies and procedures, performance standards, claims reviews and audits
  • Provide subject matter expertise on contract terms and conditions in coordination with Legal
  • Oversee day to day operations of Global Insurance Programs
  • Management of insurance analyst
  • As needed, due diligence review of risk management program and structure related to M&A
  • Coordination of all insurance and risk related requests from internal stakeholders, including Legal, Finance, Human Resources, Operations, Internal Audit and global subsidiaries
  • Management of external partner relationships, including insurance brokers, third-party administrators and insurer companies
  • Build important working relationships throughout the Company to grow and improve risk management function

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree required
  • 7+ years’ relevant commercial insurance and/or risk management experience
  • Knowledge and experience as a corporate risk manager directly involved in the purchase of coverages in the commercial insurance markets
  • Knowledge of risk management governance and controls
  • Strong PowerPoint skills, intermediate Excel skills
  • Adapts well to and initiates change in the organization.
  • Superior communication, facilitation and consensus building skills
  • Process design and analysis skills
  • Must be team oriented and perform all duties in a professional and conscientious manner
  • Ability and eagerness to continually expand financial management skill-set and company-specific knowledge base
  • High degree of initiative and personal responsibility to anticipate issues, find solutions, and drive resolution
  • M&A transaction execution experience a plus
  • Supervisory or project management experience preferred
