Primary Purpose: The Vice President will be responsible for developing and leading the execution of enterprise strategies to protect people, property, and brand reputation. Reporting to the General Counsel and Secretary the role encompasses oversight of all asset protection, corporate security and incident response, safety and crisis management programs, globally.

 

This position is based in Tapestry’s New York City corporate headquarters and will be required to be in-office 5 days per week.

 

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Asset Protection, Security and Safety to...

  • Lead and develop a high-performing global team of asset protection and corporate security professionals
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on security and safety-related issues, providing guidance and insights
  • Participate in local, state, and federal working or advisory groups to stay updated on security-related information, directives, and events
  • Oversee the budget and resource allocation for asset protection, corporate security and safety, including capital spending, analytics, and loss prevention initiatives
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align initiatives with broader business objectives executing on the core strategies below:

 

Asset Protection and Loss Prevention

  • Oversee and manage asset protection strategy and risk management plans within Tapestry to protect company assets, including product inventory, and prioritize the safety of its people
  • Oversee auditing and inspection protocols to assess, identify, and mitigate any security or theft vulnerabilities or gaps at company-operated stores and distribution centers, globally. Identify potential areas of vulnerability and risk with regard to asset protection and employee safety; develop and implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues
  • Oversee and evaluate the design and maintenance of physical security measures, including surveillance systems, access controls, alarm systems, and other physical security measures at our stores and distributions centers.
  • Lead operational management and oversight of issues involving security operations, incident investigations, risk assessments, site/building security monitoring, and access control for stores
  • Respond to alleged violations of regulations, policies, procedures, and Standards of Conduct related to asset protection, safety and security and inventory management, by evaluating, recommending initiation of, or leading investigative procedures; develop and implement a system for uniform investigation and handling of violations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with appropriate channels for investigation and resolution of asset protection, safety and risk-related issues and concerns, consulting with the Legal, Store andSupply Chain Operations, Human Resources and Finance teams to resolve safety and security related issues
  • Develop, initiate, and influence change for policies and procedures related to the general operation of inventory management, asset protection, and safety and security programs.

 

Corporate Security and Incident Response

  • Lead security strategies and operations to ensure the physical safety and security of the corporate offices globally and of the executive leadership team
  • Oversee corporate office safety and security procedures to design and implement long-term strategy over processes and procedures
  • Lead internal review and monitoring activities for designated programs to ensure employee safety and asset protection risk issues and concerns are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved
  • Manage executive protection and event security protocols based on risk levels
  • Lead risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Manage and regulate security policies and standard operating procedures
  • Oversee employee safety training and awareness initiatives, such as workplace violence prevention programs, drills for corporate employees and incident response team
  • Coordinate crisis and incident response - lead emergency response processes, ensuring the safety of employees and customers during critical situations, such as natural disasters or security incidents
  • Responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships with law enforcement agencies, landlords and security providers and ensuring that those relationships exist globally.

 

Health and Safety

  • Assess health and safety risks to the organization by working closely with senior leaders to develop effective strategic partnerships to influence key decisions and initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to promote and reinforce a culture of safety, health, and well-being principles and practices across Tapestry and all affiliated entities
  • Assess existing and develop any new health and safety procedures and training to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Oversee and manage safety strategy, policies and risk, while working with local and cross-functional teams, in stores, distribution center and corporate locations.

 

Analytics and Reporting

  • Utilize data and analytics to monitor, identify and respond to emerging threats and trends in asset protection and safety
  • Develop and report on key performance metrics related to asset protection, security and safety, providing regular updates to leadership including the Board of Directors.
  • While working with cross-functional teams, manage and ensure timely reporting and compliance under federal, state and local requirements (i.e., OSHA, Joint Health and Safety Committee)

 

 

The accomplished individual will possess...

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, security, or a related field preferred
  • Experience: Possesses broad and deep knowledge of asset protection and loss prevention, law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures with 15+ years of experience in asset protection, safety, risk and security management. Strong understanding and advanced knowledge of security principles and technologies, risk management principles, and emergency response protocols for multinational companies – staying at the forefront of asset protection technology trends and implement innovative solutions to enhance the security and efficiency of operations
  • Technical and operational knowledge of the latest security center technologies as well as industry standards
  • Strong knowledge of geopolitical landscape and global risks as well as relevant local, provincial, and federal laws and regulations related to security and asset protection
  • Exceptional leadership – with a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet business goals
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to leverage data to proactively drive actionable insights
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; exercises good judgement in high pressure scenarios; able to work in a fast-paced environment

 

An outstanding professional will have...

  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, CISSP) is a plus
  • Requires experience providing executive and event protection
  • Experience in managing global security programs in diverse cultural and legal environments
  • Proven senior stakeholder management and crisis situation handling skills
  • Strong ties with international vendors and law enforcement contacts, as well as an understanding and experience handling security and emergency situations occurring internationally
