Primary Purpose: The Retail Accountant will provide accounting support for the Tapestry Retail Accounting Shared Services Department. This includes retail accounting support for the Coach, Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman Brands. Responsibilities include the daily cash and credit card reconciliation of approximately 200 stores. Additionally, this person will take ownership of various balance sheet reconciliations (including store bank reconciliations), provide financial/operational support to Retail, and assist management with special projects and ad hoc reporting.
 

The accomplished individual will be responsible for...

  • Daily Reconciliation of cash and credit card receivable accounts for approximately 200 stores using ReconNet.

  • Investigate cash deposit overages/shortages. Ensure incident reports are filed and communicated to Loss Prevention.

  • Communicate new or significant policy and procedural issues to stores, as well as research store questions and respond in a timely basis.

  • Provide store support based on issues encountered in the field.

  • Ensure retail sales and payments are recorded accurately in the general ledger.

  • Prepare, analyze, and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and investigate unusual items.

  • Prepare necessary journal entries during the month end close to meet Tapestry’s deadline.

  • Manage Corporate Gift Card Process, including invoicing customers.

  • Special projects and ad hoc reporting as requested.

 

The accomplished individual will possess...

 

  • B.S. in Accounting plus 1 year experience preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to multi task and strong organizational skills.

  • Strong pc skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • SAP and ReconNet experience a plus.
