Primary Purpose: The Manager of Inventory Control will provide support for the Tapestry Shared Service Inventory Control Department supporting the Coach, Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman North America Retail locations. The Manager will be responsible for managing the accuracy and integrity of sku on hand inventory in stores and Area Service Centers (ASCs) across North America. The Manager oversees in-store inventory, shipments from the Distribution Centers to the stores and ASCs, shipments from the ASCs to the stores, store to store transfers, Store inventory adjustments and returns from stores to the D.C.  The Manager also organizes the annual physical inventory and periodic cycle counts for all retail stores and ASCs. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Inventory Control.

 Position Summary

The role of the Manager of Inventory Control is accountable for the following for all brands within NA (approx. 700 store+):

  • Monitoring and correct shipments, store transfers, returns and in-store adjustment error screens on a daily basis to ensure that issues are being researched timely and escalated, as needed.
  • Manage and coordinate the annual physical inventory as well as periodic cycle counts, including reconciling, creating and distributing reporting of shrink results from these counts.
  • Review physical inventory and cycle count results and research any unusual trends to identify potential operational or systematic issues.
  • Interact daily with stores on inventory related issues such as adjustment and reason code questions, under/over receipt of shipment, missing damaged cartons and/or transfers, replenishment issues, found no stock orders, fraud/theft and general inventory and operational issues.
  • Recognize areas where efficiencies can be created and question current practices
  • Monitor, maintain and correct negative inventory levels in stores
  • Work with cross functional partners in Loss Prevention, IT, Retail Merchandise Planning, Store Operations and Enterprise Information Management (EIM) for resolution of inventory related issues
  • Assist with System Development, Testing and Implementation Projects
  • Oversee month end financial reporting for the department including perpetual inventory reconciliation, shrink reserve calculation and reconciliation, scrap reporting, etc.
  • Ensuring compliance with SOX requirements as well as managing and reviewing all internal and external auditors request
  • Provide business with timely and meaningful inventory reporting to identify critical issues and drive continuing process improvements
  • Manage an offshore team to meet the day to day support needs
  • Establish best practices and processes to be rolled out and enforced globally to all Tapestry brands and regions.
  • Special projects and ad hoc reporting as requested from internal and external businesses

An outstanding professional will have…

 

  • Accounting Degree
  • 5 to 7 years of inventory management experience, preferably in a retail industry environment
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel as communication and analytical tools
  • Knowledge of SAP(Strongly preferred)
