Sr. Analyst, Inventory Control

Primary Purpose:  Monitor the accuracy and SKU integrity of on hand in store inventory.  The Senior Analyst oversees in-store inventory, shipments from the Distribution Center, store to store transfers, inventory adjustments and returns from stores to the D.C. The Senior Analyst also establishes, conducts and reconciles shrink results of the annual physical inventory as well as periodic cycle counts for all retail stores.  



The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in inventory management to…


  • Reconcile annual physical inventory shrink results in accordance with established goals as well as perform periodic cycle counts for 700+ Retail and Outlet stores
  • Monitor shipments, store transfers, returns and in-store adjustment error screens and research/reconcile on a daily basis.
  • Review sampling of offshore tasks to ensure accuracy
  • Interact daily with stores on inventory related issues such as adjustment and reason code questions, under/over receipt of shipment, missing damaged cartons and/or transfers, replenishment issues, found no stock orders, and general inventory and operational issues.
  • Monitor, maintain and correct negative inventory levels in stores
  • Work with cross-functional partners in Loss Prevention, Allocations, Store Operations and Enterprise Information Management for resolution on inventory related issues
  • Review exceptions reports on a daily basis prepared by the Inventory Analysts for any unresolved issues
  • Ensure SOX compliance within the Inventory Control area
  • Prepare month end financial reporting for the department including perpetual inventory reconciliation and shrink reconciliation
  • Provide business with timely and meaningful inventory reporting to identify critical issues and drive continuing process improvements
  • Assist the Retail Accounting team and cross functional partners with projects, and ad hoc requests, as needed
  • Partner with external service provider and ensure guidance / supervision as needed

An outstanding professional will have…


  • Accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance and/or equivalent professional experience
  • 2 years of inventory and/or Accounting experience, preferably in a retail industry environmen
