Location: The role is hybrid and can be based in our offices in North Bergen, NJ or Hudson Yards, NY.

 

Primary Purpose:

The People Solutions team is a cornerstone of Tapestry’s HR Operating Model. By delivering critical HR services with a focus on a positive employee experience, the team enables HR Business Partners and Centers of Expertise to focus on strategic initiatives and innovation.

 

The Sr. Director, Human Resources, People Solutions and Shared Services, leads the People Solutions team for the North American region. The role oversees our outsourced shared services center, Tapestry People Services, and partners with our vendor to ensure our employees are provided with the right service and to monitor the achievement of Service Level Agreements. The Sr. Director, People Solutions is also responsible for HR compliance in North America, government reporting, and oversees the Leave of Absence process with our vendor.

The Sr. Director, reports to the VP, Employee Experience & HR Operations, and leads a team of four HR professionals.

 

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Human Resources Operations to...

  • Oversee the HR Service Center (Tapestry People Services - TPS)
  • Ensure that TPS is well trained and equipped with the latest information to best serve employees and managers
  • Act as key liaison with our service provider on a global level, and partner with global counterparts as needed
  • Monitor delivery against Service Level Agreements and serve as the point of contact for any issues with the service level
  • Provide ongoing coaching that empowers TPS to quickly and accurately get to the root of the employees’ issues and provide a timely resolution
  • Facilitate the development of just-in-time tools and services for unique circumstances
  • Deliver a positive Employee Experience
  • Develop tools, policies, processes, and communications for HR Operations with a focus on a frictionless employee experience and representing Tapestry’s values
  • Recommend improvements based on data and trend analysis, as well as employee and stakeholder feedback
  • Liaise with Centers of Excellence, HR partners and other stakeholders to facilitate the timely resolution of complex employee situations
  • Own HR Compliance, Government Employment Reporting and other HR administration
  • Oversee I-9/E-Verify process
  • Manage employment poster distribution
  • Handle hourly minimum wage increase process
  • Ensure employment document compliance
  • Provide EEO-1, VETS-4212, and state/local ad-hoc reporting
  • Coordinate completion of Affirmative Action Plans (AAP)
  • Establish and maintain the employee personnel file system, and ensure compliance with record retention requirements
  • Oversee the Leave of Absence (LOA) Administration Process
  • Monitor the LOA vendor’s performance metrics and address issues as needed
  • Provide guidance regarding state/local LOA requirements
  • Manage US Corporate Holiday schedule
  • Lead and motivate a team of HR professionals
  • Participate in cross-functional projects as needed

An outstanding professional will have...

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience, with 5+ years of experience in HR
  • Experience leading or working in a shared services organization strongly preferred
  • Deep understanding of the North American HR regulatory and compliance landscape
  • Vendor management experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, motivating and developing a team with a focus on an inclusive and purpose-driven culture
  • Prior experience with government employment reporting preferred
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors, Case Management systems, and electronic personnel filing systems preferred
