The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in non-merchandise sourcing to...

 

  • Provide expertise on the Sourcing process and best practices within the team for all sourcing activity across Tapestry
  • Provide a level of category expertise and experience to support sourcing initiatives and lead high priority strategic sourcing projects as needed
  • Prioritize strategic sourcing projects to the team and monitor project performance by regularly reporting results
  • Develop skills and category expertise of Sourcing Specialists and provide performance review feedback
  • Develop category roadmaps and strategies in conjunction with the team to generate year over year value for the company
  • Work with other Tapestry and Brands’ functional groups and Category Managers to coordinate sourcing activities across Tapestry
  • Identify large-scale business opportunities and improvement initiatives that maximize profitability
  • Facilitate change management with colleagues and key contacts throughout the organization
  • Originate new concepts and innovative approaches for the organization
  • Influence large and strategic sourcing and purchasing decisions across Tapestry

 

The accomplished individual will possess....

  • B.S.  / B.A. degree in Business (or other related degree programs), MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of Strategic Sourcing experience or procurement consulting experience
  • Demonstrated success of leading project teams to achieving quantifiable savings by applying sourcing methods
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to drive change in a global decentralized organization with minimum supervision
  • Champions best practice processes, tools, and commitment to provide quality procurement products / customer service 
  • Flexibility in a dynamic, ever evolving business environment
  • Strong project management skills and results oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation management experience
  • Strong management capabilities to manage and develop the Sourcing team
  • Knowledge of eProcurement and eCatalog management systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), proficiency in Purchase-to-pay tools (e.g. Ariba)

 

An outstanding professional will have...

 

  • In-depth knowledge and experience of strategic sourcing processes, organization, and technology required. Nationally recognized professional certification preferred (Certified Purchasing Manager, Certified Professional Contract Manager)
  • Leadership; team building; negotiations; sourcing strategy formulation and implementation; process development / reengineering; contract / agreement writing; supplier/contract management; and ability to represent inter-departmental and corporate issues across internal and external boundaries
