Primary Purpose: This Senior Manager position will serve as a key member of Tapestry’s Global People & Organizational Development (GPOD) team, covering North Asia market (including Japan & Korea). He/She is responsible for building knowledge, skills, capabilities and mindset of people and team in Tapestry through various learning and OD interventions. The Senior Manager will report to the Sr. Director, GPOD, APAC.

Support People Development Curriculum & Programs:

  • Support our current and future, large-scale and specialized, manager development programs for corporate and store teams
  • Support the launch and ongoing management of e-learning and other asynchronistic/micro solutions as a means of empowering teams to take ownership of their development
  • Customize and design learning solutions for corporate and/or store employees and teams to help build their capability and skills.  
  • Facilitate classroom and virtual sessions for individuals and teams in both Japanese and English
  • Oversee vendor relationships for open enrollment and intact team sessions, where applicable
  • Manage training programs through LMS/Workday when applicable.

 

Support Organizational Development Initiatives:

  • Support, design and facilitate additional GPOD initiatives, including team effectiveness, organizational design challenges, and other OD interventions, where applicable
  • Support change management efforts by providing advisory support and owning the core change management curricula
  • Leverage experience and best practices to design scalable programs, workshops resources, and tools
  • Measure the impact of initiatives in delivering value for the business

 

Collaborate with GPOD, Talent Team, HR Community and key stakeholders:

  • Work with fellow team members globally to ensure alignment with People & Organizational Development initiatives; support each other in order to achieve team goals
  • Develop strong relationships with Global Talent and HR Business Partners and to understand and support the business needs of Tapestry and the brands
  • Work closely with key stakeholders in North Asia region to guarantee the success of global and regional programs, and help drive the business

 

 

The accomplished individual will possess...

  • Language skill: Japanese native, High business in English is a must and being able to facilitate trainings and workshops in English. (Korean is nice to have)
  • Culture fit – open-minded, inclusive, flexible, authentic, mature and customer centric
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Training and/or OD and change management
  • Experience of supporting multiple countries / market is preferred (experience of supporting Korea market is an advantage)
  • Bachelor's degree and above.
  • Working knowledge of industry trends and leading practices in learning & development and organization effectiveness
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; including ability to manage complex programs and complex organization structures
  • Ability to engage with a variety of levels and global partners including senior leaders in the organization
  • Ability to be agile in changing circumstances and work in ambiguous environments with a growth mindset
  • Superior written, communication, influence and facilitation skills
  • Proven consultative, collaboration and coaching skills with leaders and cross-functional partners
  • Certification in assessment tools and training methodologies (such as MBTI, DiSC, StrengthsFinder, Situational leadership etc.) is a plus
