primary purpose:

kate spade new york is looking for an experienced, goal-oriented, digital marketing professional to manage paid search engine marketing (SEM) channel strategy and execution including but not limited to text search, shopping (PLA), and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).


the successful individual will leverage their proficiency in digital marketing search to...

  • set the strategy and day-to-day management of all marketing as it pertains to SEM and ongoing SEO projects and roadmap. develop a best-in-class search marketing strategy that drives demand and fuels new customer growth. 
  • act as a subject matter expert for all things paid search and SEO by leading strategy development, campaign management, testing and execution with a unified vision for channel growth
  • support the sr. manager of ecommerce in creating and implementing acquisition marketing strategy for SEM & PLA in support of and kate spade surprise sale
  • ensure flawless execution of digital marketing activities across paid search engine marketing with a strong focus of driving acquisition strategies as well as managing daily marketing budget
  • lead day-to-day execution of search engine marketing - managing external vendors, agencies, and internal teams to proactively keep ahead on timelines, deliverables, and communications
  • oversee the process of requesting creative assets and copy through the creative team as needed
  • partner cross-functionally with merchandising, product and content marketing teams to define and improve visibility for priority product categories and brand content through SEM
  • create reporting framework that effectively captures paid and organic search program performance including daily, weekly and monthly reporting that produces actionable run-of-business optimizations for the channel as a whole
  • drive effective SEM campaigns focused on meeting goals for new customer acquisition and ROI, while developing and executing actionable SEO roadmap that integrates technical, content, and product optimization opportunities.
  • analyze campaigns and translate qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising the campaigns and drive agency to optimize key performance indicators on an ongoing basis
  • own management of SEM & SEO projects/tickets with IT, prioritizing internal projects
  • serve as the digital marketing lead for all cross-functional activity and communication (internally and externally) on best practices and subject matter expert for SEM and SEO to share with stakeholders across the organization including creative, marketing, ecommerce, etc.
  • identify new, innovative opportunities to drive traffic and revenue by meeting and vetting new vendors, testing opportunities (alphas, betas, etc) and partners
  • participate in cross-functional team meetings to contribute digital innovative ideas and communicate digital campaign strategies for all launches and promotional activity
  • understand the digital competitive arena. bring new ideas to the table based on competitive review of the digital and online marketplace as well as following industry news
  • proficiency and ownership over feed management as it relates to search engine marketing and product listing ads, including feed hosting platforms, updates, troubleshooting and ongoing feed audits
  • collaborate with e-commerce site team, creative, and other internal teams for on-site content and development optimizations to support SEO efforts

an outstanding professional will have...

  • bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
  • 4+ years of specialized experience and expertise within SEM and/or SEO, ideally with a recognized brand in retail/fashion or at an agency
  • experience in performance marketing with knowledge of data-driven decisions and implementing SEM growth strategies based on establishing efficiency at scale
  • expertise in standard search industry reporting and diagnostic tools (adwords, google analytics, search console, etc), and Ad-serving and Bid Management technologies (doubleClick, etc)
  • experience working in google search console and implementing SEO optimizations in backend systems including salesforce/semandware
  • working business knowledge of product feed management, troubleshooting, data feeds, etc
  • google adwords certification strongly preferred
  • direct to consumer ecommerce experience is highly preferred
  • advanced excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMif statements, etc.)
