Job Title: Planner, North America Omni Planning

 

Primary Purpose: The North America Omni Planner will support Stuart Weitzman brand leaders in driving North America planning strategy and Long Range Planning (LRP) execution with guidance to business channels. The NA Planner will partner closely with Buying, Allocation and Merchandising teams to provide business insights and set sales/margin targets. The Planner will own the creation, finalization, and in-season management of business unit (BU) level open-to-buy (OTB) plan as well as seasonal OTB recommendation of carryover vs. newness strategy.

 

  • Individual Accountabilities
    • Develop Annual Operating plans (AOP) by channel (stores/e-commerce) by week for all KPIs
    • Roll assigned OTB $ through department/channel. Develop sales, gross margin percentage, receipt, inventory, AUR, AUC and WOH targets for FP and clearance.
    • Establish channel purchase plans for each buy season
    • Reconcile buy plans to purchase plans ensuring investments meet BU financial and inventory targets
    • Set depth guidelines (e.g., ranges) for BU assortment buys; category and class targets, including size and width curves
    • Monthly reforecast of dept sales/GM%/Inv by week based on trend.  Identify risks/opportunities.
    • Provides channel plan information and acts as point person to key partners
    • Builds promotional strategies, calendar, and models; communicates and aligns key region/channel partners.
    • Point person to key partners for region/channel financial and operational plan information
    • Creation of regional/channel reports and analysis on performance; tracks performance against plan, AOP, LY
    • Builds daily plans for all channels across all KPIs
    • Develop and recommend seasonal carryover vs. newness financial strategy 
    • Responsible to continuously evaluate inventory complexion and recommend strategy to move through excess inventory
    • Forecasting product receipts and communicating to Allocation

 

  • Shared Accountabilities
    • With Buying – Align seasonal sales/GM/receipt plans with buying strategies. Discuss weekly selling to capitalize on trends. Monthly forecast alignment on seasonal plans, promotions and trend. provides guidance and analysis for clusters, cluster assortments and APS’s. Tracks tests, events, holidays.
    • With Buying – validate seasonal carryover vs. newness strategy.
    • With Allocation – pass top line projections as basis for by store allocation
    • With Allocation – manage size and width curves
    • With Global Inventory – Align on receipt budgets by season, core projections and excess inventory.
    • With Finance & Channel Leads – provide monthly forecasts, KPIs, align promotional cadence & strategy by channel/location, IMU, gross margin impacts
    • With Buying & Allocation - Align and communicate any changes necessary to safety stock levels

The accomplished individual will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or quantitative area preferred
  • 1-2+ years of experience in Financial Planning, Analysis or related field preferred
  • Financial modelling and Microsoft Excel skills
  • P&L Budgeting/Forecasting/Planning experience
  • Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to communicate across multiple levels of the business
  • Ability to develop strong financial partnerships across the business and be a team player
  • Strong attention to detail
