POSITION SUMMARY

Senior Buyer is responsible for executing the assortment and product investment strategy to support Stuart Weitzman Business in Greater China, for Retail, Outlet, and Online. This position will work closely with Retail and EC operations, Marketing, VM, etc. to ensure the successful implementation of product strategies and achievement of financial targets. The Senior Buyer will also collaborate with the Global Merchandising and Buying team to ensure alignment on global product strategies and business targets, and to meet the needs of the Greater China market.

 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITEIS/ ACCOUNTABLITIES

  • Execute merchandising strategies developed by the Buying Manager to drive business based on store tiers and client profiles at Stuart Weitzman Stores in Greater China. Understand and analyze customer segments and behaviors to effectively position brand and products in the market;
  • Collaborate with Retail & EC Team to understand and support business objectives;
  • Identify product opportunities to drive business in the market. Communicate market product needs and opportunities to the Buying Manager and Global Merchandising team to inform product strategy and design;
  • Assist in the development and execution of product strategy and plan for the selection and purchase of products for GC DTC channels;
  • Support the achievement of in-season ST% targets. Participate in product analysis and provide insights to ensure business achievement;
  • Conduct market, competitors, and trend research to support the preparation of seasonal product briefs for global;
  • Assist in managing product pricing to stay competitive in the market and achieve margin targets;
  • Support the product launch plan with cross-functional cooperation. Partner with Marketing team to ensure effective communication of key launches and big ideas;

  • Work closely with the training team to support the communication of product stories, features, and benefits to the sales team;
  • Assist in the seasonal order placement and sell-in process to wholesale accounts;
  • Support product master data management and product life cycle management;
  • Participate in ad hoc projects as required.
  • Contribute to team professional excellence and talent development.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree with over 5 years of experience in a merchandising or buying role, with solid international experience for GC or China market;
  • Strong market sensibility and passion for product. Luxury brand or footwear experience a plus;
  • Good business acumen. Attention to detail, and ability to translate insights into action plans;
  • Highly organized & proactive with strong ownership & passion for the brand;
  • Ability to take initiative and accountability for tasks;
  • Creative & strategic thinker with a good understanding of business strategies;
  • Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills;
  • With the ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to team success.
