Primary Purpose: The Junior Demand Planner plays a key role in supporting inventory planning and coordination across the Kate Spade New York European Wholesale and Distributor channels. Working closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Buying, Sales, Finance, and Inventory Management, this position will help ensure stock levels align with sales targets and that the right products are available at the right time.
In this role, you will assist with forecasting, reporting, and analysing sales and inventory performance to enable accurate demand planning and informed business decisions. This is an excellent opportunity to develop strong analytical skills and gain exposure to multiple functions within a dynamic retail and wholesale environment.
The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Demand Planning to:
- Assist in maintaining and updating inventory and sales performance reports, including inbound deliveries, stock levels, and out-of-stock risks
- Monitor inventory levels and deliver actionable insights to optimize stock availability, ensuring alignment with sales and margin targets while reducing excess
- Support in preparing demand forecasts at the SKU level and updating plans based on actual performance and market trends
- Participate in hindsight and performance analysis to identify key learnings for future planning cycles.
- Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to track order status and ensure timely delivery to wholesale partners
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Sales, Buying, Finance, and Inventory Management) to align on seasonal and in-season inventory needs
- Assist in identifying risks such as overstock or out-of-stock situations and recommend corrective actions where possible
The accomplished individual will possess:
- 1–2 years of experience in Demand Planning, Buying, Merchandising, or Supply Chain within retail, wholesale, or franchise environments
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to draw actionable insights from data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Proactive, eager to learn, and adaptable within a dynamic, cross-functional team environment
- Familiarity with planning systems (e.g., RPAS) is advantageous but not essential
