Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • anticipate seasonal development calendar; manage adherence to deadlines proactively
  • analyze global sales, feedback and historical data to create a seasonal design brief
  • create global line architecture
  • assess competitive landscape to identify opportunities for future growth and voids within the brand
  • liaise with all functional areas (design, production, merchandising & BUs) to execute seasonal assortments from concept to creation
  • edit and price line with design based on creative vision and business goals
  • uphold brand filter and product integrity across categories and markets
  • analyze weekly sales information, identifying opportunities for current development
  • manage development mile stone meeting preparation, including design reviews, line pricing, line architectures, design reviews, margin reviews, and internal market presentations
  • present assortment to sales and cross-functional teams

 

 Education and experience required:

  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills; team player
  • supervisory/management experience preferred
  • proficient in windows-based software such as excel, word & powerpoint
  • must be able to utilize and master internal software systems
  • Independent worker, takes initiative with sense of urgency & demonstrates problem solving skills
  • organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • strategic planning and competitive analysis abilities
  • ability to interact with multiple departments and employees at all levels to demonstrate interpersonal savvy
  • genuine understanding and passion for the kate spade brand & customer
  • retail math general knowledge required
  • college degree required
  • 5+ years in positions offering relevant experience
