primary purpose: As a Senior Digital Designer at Kate Spade, you will join a (fun!) motivated team that is responsible for bringing the Kate Spade brand voice to life digitally across every aspect of the business. This role requires a highly motivated and talented designer with a background in visualizing a unified brand look and feel across the digital space. You must possess strategic and conceptual creative thinking, with an understanding of how thoughtful design can influence and strengthen a brand. You also have experience collaborating with talented copywriters and other cross-functional partners such as marketing and e-commerce as well as mentoring and managing junior designers. You will create emails, paid advertising, concept photo shoots, and social experiences of a high, polished standard.

 

the successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Digital Design to...

  • Interpret and develop Kate Spade’s existing brand for digital, bringing Kate Spade to life online in a way that is consistent with all of our other consumer touch points (product, packaging, etc.)
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the digital design team, focused on functional, conceptual, and beautiful user experiences across KateSpade.com and our social channels.
  • Support the Creative Director and Art Director in bringing new campaign ideas to life in an assortment of digital channels
  • Create responsive web designs that translate seamlessly across devices.
  • Execute design for marketing campaigns across all digital channels including social, email and paid ads.
  • Research new channels, stay on top of digital trends
  • Work closely with marketing to optimize ad content, being adaptive to test results and research.
  • Follow and maintain brand identity standards.
  • Be a self-starter with the ability to create unique, thoughtful designs but also manage time independently and accurately
  • Develop creative that is adheres to the brief and on-brand, with an incredible attention to craft and detail while maintaining a strong point of view and an ability to think critically.
  • An interest in bringing our product and stories to life through animation as well as more traditional graphic design solutions.
  • Ability to quickly sketch, comp, and visualize ideas to communicate with internal stakeholders for proof-of-concept.

 

the accomplished individual will possess...

  • 5-7 years f experience at a design or branding studio, either agency or in-house
  • BA or BFA in graphic design, visual communications, or related field.
  • Contemporary and engaging portfolio with strengths in conceptual thinking, typography, layout, photo art direction and brand system development.
  • Very strong typographic layout skills and sensibilities across many mediums.
  • Excellent organizational skills, a natural collaborator, but can also work independently
  • Ability to be self-sufficient and juggle different types of projects with independent time-management skills.
  • Ability and experience presenting work in meetings, and selling creative to cross-functional partners.
  • Full proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Skills in video editing/animation/motion design is a plus
