The Sr. Manager Materials will leverage their experience in materials including leather, fabric and hardware to:

  • Support Design to meet all sourcing needs and to ensure design is kept updated on all material status.
  • Ensuring all materials are sourced and developed to meet development calendar dates.
  • Partner with Global Materials team to develop and source core and seasonal materials in Asia and Europe.
  • Place and follow up on all material samples as needed.
  • Daily communication with all suppliers and all internal cross functional partners.
  • Coordinating and communicating all new material developments to cross functional teams (design, product development)
  • Get technical information sheets from suppliers and mills ( FDS, LDS, HDS)
  • Maintain and track all material information in Materials and color development tracking chart.
  • Update EC Vision with necessary material information.
  • Receive and process all sample yardage/skins.
  • Work directly with RMS’s on developments, sample and market week yardage requests for bulk approvals
  • Review article masters and colors for approval production sign off and distribution to RMS and Asia tapestry team.
  • Communicate approvals to the RMS.
  • Create and distribute standard color palette for  cross functional partners
  • Review production quality issues/defects with PD/Design Merchandising and elevate to senior management as needed.
  • Review PDT calendar weekly to ensure dates are being met for development and bulk approval. Highlight deadlines to cross functional partners.
  • Attend weekly cross functional meetings.
  • Organizing and maintaining the materials library.
  • Validate all invoices and coding in Buying Hub as well as budget tracking
     

The accomplished individual will possess:

  • 7-10 years’ experience with global material development.
  • Strong design aesthetic
  • Ability to communicate clearly both written and verbal.
  • Proven follow-up and follow through skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with shifting priorities.
  • High level of attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • High energy level, team player with ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Computer proficiency; Windows, Word, Excel, E-mail (proficient in Excel and word), ECVision
