Title: E-commerce Senior Manager
Reports to: Head of Digital and Customer Experience
Location: Tokyo, Japan

 

Primary Purpose:

The eCommerce Sales Senior Manager will lead and manage Kate Spade Japan's eCommerce sales activities, including planning, sales operations, and business growth. This role is pivotal in achieving eCommerce sales targets by enhancing agility and speed in eCommerce stores. Additionally, the Senior Manager will closely collaborate with the marketing team to drive brand desirability for the long-term success of the business. This includes managing digital store performance analysis against financial digital KPI targets. The role requires navigating and leading cross-functional communications to coordinate key campaign planning and execution with the brand marketing team, identifying business growth opportunities related to product life cycles with the buying and allocation team, and executing promotions with store teams. This position reports directly to the Head of Digital Commerce at Kate Spade Japan.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the yearly eCommerce sales strategy in collaboration with the Head of Digital Commerce.
  • Build and implement seasonal go-to-market (GTM) strategies in coordination with product, marketing, and store teams.
  • Lead and manage overall eCommerce sales planning with eCommerce managers and respective cross-functional teams.
  • Enable digital stores by clearly communicating store requirements, such as product settings, features, functionality, issues, and enhancements, to the eCommerce operations team.
  • Manage on-site merchandising and trading applications and tools that impact the gateway, product listing pages (PLP), product detail pages (PDP), and overall onsite experience.
  • Collaborate with the customer experience and brand marketing teams to ensure that each digital store meets the brand's goals and purpose.
  • Develop, lead, and improve a comprehensive eCommerce on-site merchandising and trading operating model, and help upskill team members when necessary.
  • Continuously improve on-site trading operations to maximize product category performance by fully leveraging each digital platform’s capabilities.
  • Ensure online trading KPIs are continuously improved and executed at a high level by working with IT and digital teams from Tapestry functions.
  • Lead eCommerce KPI management through weekly, monthly, and quarterly planning, forecasting, and reviews to foster a data-driven business management approach.
  • Develop standards for trading and operating KPI reports for each digital store.
  • Stay current by learning and adopting best practices from internal and external sources.
  • Conduct periodic monitoring and analysis of other industries and competitors’ digital stores to stay updated on tools, solutions, and operations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 7+ years of eCommerce site trading/operation or relevant experience in the fashion/luxury or FMCG industry.
  • Business-level English and Japanese skills.
  • Strong communicator and team player.
  • Innovative thinker with an ability to think outside the box.
  • Excellent ability to maintain composure and effectiveness in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to apply a growth mindset in business and team management environments.
  • Skills in digital store management tools such as CMS, PIM, and SFCC are highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
