The Primary Purpose: The Buyer (temp)  – Women’s (non leather goods) will support the strategic and operational channel execution of local produce investment, driving in-season performance against sales and margin targets for the Retail and Wholesale channels across the region.  Reports to the Senior Manager, Buying – Women’s, Full Price


The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in merchandise planning to….  

  • Support the investment of OTB ‘dollars’ for (non leather goods categories) , overview SKU depth, in order to meet financial targets for both retail and wholesale channels
  • Drive performance against sales and margin targets; maximize in-season opportunities and affect future inventory
  • Assist with the completion of monthly updates to store distro info, SKU info, DPIs
  • Participate in door profiling, including optimal store content and network distribution by category and gender
  • Analyze and interpret product performance, customer feedback, consumer trends, competitive landscape and local market knowledge to global merchandising/design
  • Support retail animation initiatives focused on investments and market specificities (peak trading periods, holidays, store openings) through training, retail support, VM, product flow, customer outreach
  • Alongside the Senior Manager, Buying, align with Global Merchandising partners to ensure global nature of assortment (i.e., assortment includes products needed to fit trends/differences of market)
  • Partner with BU Planning to revisit OTB allocations when season sales deviate from sales plan and make changes to OTB assignment when required, develop smart pricing recommendations
  • In partnership with BU Planning team, understand existing business risks and opportunities regarding product investments and inventory
  • Partner with BU marketing to support effective marketing plan aligned with investment
  • Work with VM to plan in store realization of product strategy, zoning, new store profiles
  • Increase knowledge of product, consumer and competition in local market
  • Support new door openings with relevant category mix 


The accomplished individual will possess the following experience:

  • Minimum 4+ years of buying merchandise planning experience in fashion/luxury retail ideally gained in a fast paced environment 
  • Numerate with strong analytical skills and financial acumen; operates with clear command of the key financial drivers in driving a business
  • Experience overseeing and guiding product allocation
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel 
  • Knowledge of the fashion or accessories luxury goods market
  • Experience of working with a global company/brand
  • Experience supporting the European market
